This blog as a whole will not be about the topic I am about to discuss, but I feel it's necessary to crash through this wall early, in order to level the playing field. This is not meant to isolate, insult, or upset anyone. These are merely my own personal views based on my experiences.
I am not an atheist in any way, shape or form. On the contrary, I have personally experienced "God" in one of the most intimate and unexpected ways I could ever imagine. I am a Kabbalist. I was raised Catholic, I went to a Christian high school, I love and believe in Jesus and much of what I have learned has pushed me past faith into a place of understanding. The beauty of Kabbalah is that it doesn't necessarily disclaim or discount what you have been raised to believe, it simply pulls back the curtain to reveal the inner workings of the spiritual machine.
What I have learned is that the word "God" is a polarizing, man-made word used to describe a concept that chooses to be elusive because its comprehension is unnecessary, its purpose is all that matters, and its purpose is infinite love and sharing. People use labels and words for the sake of their own comfort, to make things more comprehensible and communicable to others. Yet somehow, even without adequate words to describe it, some of us have the understanding of the concept wired into us, so that over time, we merely build the vocabulary to try to help others grasp what we innately feel. The truth is, we came from somewhere. Our souls were created at some point in time, by something, The Light or Creator are easiest for me to use to describe this. I have heard several descriptions of the creation of souls, the details are irrelevant, we are all here, we are all linked to one another, and this is the most important thing that we all need to remember. What is done to one, is done to all.
So please, don't think of God as a he, she, it, or any other personification. We are all part of the Light, permanently linked and beautifully bound together. If you choose to accept this, it will make it harder for us to hide behind the anonymity of separation, and we will all move closer to the ultimate goal of love and understanding. See, God doesn't need a house, or artifacts, or your money, the light wants you to be happy and grow towards fulfillment. Whereas many people think of God as a happy guy waiting up in heaven for us, the truth is much different. God is really in the homeless man on the corner, who has sunk so low that he had to swallow his pride and hold up a sign, praying that someone would have a shred of compassion. When you see that man, what do you do?
That man is actually there for your benefit, to give you an opportunity to connect to the light, to God. See, he has already surrendered his ego and asked for help, he has made his correction and the light will take care of him for doing so. This is a chance for you to see what you're made of, do you give what you can, do you feel pity, do you judge and scoff at this lazy man? The choice is yours to make, that's the beauty of free-will. God is also the voice of your conscience whispering in your ear, telling you what you should do, it's up to you to decide whether or not to listen.Whichever choice you make, the decision ultimately affects everyone as we are all connected, so please, at the very least, do no harm. If you are unable to help the person, at least wish them well, you don't have to actually say it, but feel it for them. This simple act will bring you closer to the creator and will bring light into your world.
No matter what name you use for God, or what religion you chose to follow, as long as love and compassion are priorities in your life, you have my respect and appreciation. So please, question the answers, don't just believe everything that you're told. Ask yourself whether or not your feelings are in agreement with what you are learning and if they aren't, search for other answers. My shared soul and I have had almost identical experiences with having innately known many of the answers, but much of the learning that we do gives us vocabulary to communicate the concepts. As with anything in life, if you desire to increase your awareness and abilities in a certain discipline, it's always easier if you surround yourself with those who have walked the path before you so that they can help show you the way. Research and read a lot, try out the concepts in your own lives, what good is knowledge in storage? It's like the difference between potential and kinetic energy, only when the object is in motion is it actually doing the work.
I'd like to close this with a quote from a man whom most people wouldn't think would comment on things like this. I am lucky enough to share a birthday with Albert Einstein, and as a Piscean, he was able to do great things because of his ability to straddle the line between the physical world and the spiritual world. I have learned through my passion for science, that science and spirituality are not mutually exclusive endeavors... that ascension and the resulting manifestations have revealed that, in truth, they actually reinforce each other. So, here is Einstein's assertions on the concept of "oneness":
“A human being is a part of the whole, called by us the ‘Universe’, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest – a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.”
And remember, above all else, do unto others... because you will be doing unto yourself.
Namaste
